The Society’s twilight event at the Bonsai House in Brisbane’s Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens on 22nd March 2024 was a brilliant evening showcasing the traditional Japanese arts of bonsai and koto.
Guests enjoyed a live koto concert in the dedicated performance space, sampled a variety of Japanese teas and sweets and learnt about the ancient art of bonsai from the experts who tend this impressive collection (one of the largest publicly owned Bonsai collections in Australia).
The Brisbane City Council’s redevelopment of the City’s magnificent Bonsai House commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Brisbane Kobe Sister-City relationship.
