Event Report – AJSQ Annual Careers Evening

On the 8th October, Brisbane high school and university  students had the opportunity to learn about utilising their Japanese language and culture skills to build a Japan-related career, during the Society’s annual Careers Evening.

Guest speakers Ms Susie Clowes, Mr Olivier Allart, Mr Morgan Johnson and Ms Athena Matsuda spoke to the students about their respective career experiences as well as providing helpful tips and advice.

Ms Momo Hirano from the the Consulate-General of Japan spoke about the JET Program before all the speakers and students finished with an informal networking session.

MC for the evening was AJS-Q Committee member, Dr Taeko Imura – Japanese Language Coordinator at Griffith University (Nathan).

Our thanks to Dr Imura for coordinating the event, the guest speakers, the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane, and all those who attended.
