In August the Society jointly hosted its annual Careers Evening with the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane as part of Japan Month 2023. This year ‘in-person’ attendee tickets sold out and more than 80 participants registered online for the popular event, demonstrating a continued strong interest in Japan related careers.
MASUDA Chieko, Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Brisbane opened the event and addressed the participants before Julie Yamamoto AJS-QLD Vice President introduced this year’s speakers.
They included, Arabella Dove from Toll Group, Candice Ungerer from Trade and Investment Queensland and Michelle Allan from Duchesne College, University of Queensland.
Shannon Whitely from the Consulate-General of Japan also spoke to attendees about the JET program.
The evening concluded with the ever popular question time with ‘in person’ and online participants being able to engage directly with the speakers.
Thank you to all those who were involved in making this event possible. Special thanks to the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane and to our wonderful speakers. We look forward to running this very popular event again in Japan Month 2024.
