On Wednesday, in the morning, at the Australian Embassy, Tokyo, Japan, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received a briefing from Australia’s Ambassador to Japan, Mr Justin Hayhurst.
In the afternoon, at Iron Chef Sakai Restaurant ‘La Rochelle’, Tokyo, Japan, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Net Zero and Sustainable Food System Lunch, and the Governor addressed guests.
Following, at Imperial Hotel Tokyo, Japan, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended the Taste of Queensland Showcase and Reception, and the Governor addressed guests.
5 June
On Thursday, in the morning, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD travelled from Tokyo, Japan to the Saitama Prefecture, where they visited the Saitama Children’s Medical Centre and received a briefing on operations, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
Following, at Royal Pines Hotel, Urawa, Saitama, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a meeting and working lunch with the Governor of Saitama, Mr Motohiro OHNO; Speaker, Saitama Prefecture Assembly, Mr Yukihito SHIRATO; and Chairman, Saitama Parliamentary Association for Japan-Australia Friendship, Mr Itsuo KOYANO.
Following, at Waka Kokusai High School, Saitama, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the Queensland sister school and met with staff and students before departing Saitama on Official Travel to Osaka, Japan.
6 June
On Friday, in the morning, at the Australia Pavilion, Osaka, Japan, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD received a briefing from the Australia Pavilion Deputy Commissioner General, Ms Lucy Ryan and toured the Pavilion.
Following, at the Australia Pavilion, Osaka, Japan, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Queensland Day Luncheon, and the Governor addressed guests.
In the evening, at Osaka’s Umeda Railway Station, Japan, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo attended a Taste of Queensland showcase and the Governor addressed guests.
7 June
On Saturday, at Government House, members of the public visited for an Open Day in celebration of Queensland Day.
At World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD visited the Japan Pavilion and Osaka Healthcare Pavilion.
In the afternoon, at Osaka Castle, Japan, Her Excellency and Professor Nimmo toured the castle and met with staff.
8 June
On Sunday, in the evening, Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM and Professor Graeme Nimmo departed Japan to return to Government House.
