SPEAKER BIO: JIM GAYNOR

While living in Japan I was introduced to Sports Yabusame. It was the most beautifully ridiculous activity I had ever seen, which made me fall in awe and love with it immediately. After practicing and competing in 4 international tournaments, I returned to Australia, got bored, and decided to start the sport here. Now, after 10 years, I have a club, 2 horses, and do tournaments! I even have willing participants from both Australian and Japanese origins, to share the delusion that this is somehow practical and worth the time and effort involved! Let the heroic outstretch of rider at full draw, Samurai robes flowing, the steed hurtling in glorious fury, command your imagination for an evening with me, Jim Gaynor, a 50+ relocated expat living with my Japanese wife and step sons in FNQ!
