AIIU is currently looking for schools that may be able to host groups of Japanese students for one or two days during the period from 29th July to the 5th August.
There would be approximately 15 – 25 students in the group and Japanese escorts as well as AIIU staff. There is a group of JHS students 12 – 14 years and a couple of groups of SHS aged 15 – 17 years.
The groups will be flying into Brisbane, and AIIU are looking for schools in the Brisbane, Darling Downs, Sunshine coast or Gold Coast areas.
AIIU will organise the entire program including finding host families and ensuring they have blue cards. For schools, the requirement is to organise one or two days of interaction- the interaction can be sports, cooking, Japanese or any subjects, the students are there to immerse into Australian schools.
The students can be split into smaller groups to fit into interaction class sizes as required.
The school would be paid for hosting these students.
