Members and friends of the AJS-QLD are advised of the passing of former AJS-QLD Committee member Gladys Busch, aged 90 years.
Gladys was an enthusiastic member of the Committee for a number of years and, together with husband Noel, was a longstanding member of the Society. She was particularly active in the AJS-QLD’s Ladies Group that held many successful events from the 1970’s through to the early 2000’s. This group also played an important role in the early days of the Queensland Japan relationship by providing a social network for the partners and families of the many Japanese executives working in Brisbane at the time.
A champion of the Arts, Gladys was a world renowned doll artist and Churchill Fellow whose strong association and love of Japan led to her exhibiting there on several occasions.
