In August the Society jointly hosted its annual Careers Evening with the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane.
Once again attendees were able to join both ‘in person’ at the Consulate -General of Japan and online for this popular annual event.
HANAl, Ikuko Deputy Consul-General of Japan in Brisbane opened the event and addressed the participants before MC, Nicole Patterson of the AJS-QLD Committee introduced this years’ speakers.
They included, Tim Oakes, Managing Director at Inside Travel Group Australia; Sonia Uranishi, Senior Global Communication Advisor at ALS, QUT;Andrew Bishop from Trade and Investment Queensland; Kohei Tamura, AJS-QLD Committee member who spoke about studying and working in both Australia and Japan; and Greg Corbett, Cultural Affairs Public Relations Officer and JET Programme Coordinator from the Consulate-General of Japan who spoke about the JET Program.
The evening concluded with the ever popular Q & A with ‘in person’ and online participants being able to engage directly with the speakers.
