From Shimokitazawa to Daitabashi there is some very tasteful new development of land created by the major reconstruction of the train station.
With all trains now underground, the old Shimokitazawa train line has been transformed into a hub of restaurants, bars, new boutique hotels and even a new quintessential Japanese stone hot spring bathhouse. Of course I had to try it out. You can book in advance and a visit to the onsen will include a semi-traditional tea time in the little tearoom across the hall.
