Attendees at the Society’s recent Chakakai and Ikebana workshop began the day with a stroll through one of Tamborine Mountain’s most beautiful gardens before being treated to green tea and delicious mitarashi dango from Kyoto.
Then it was down to business as they participated in a tea ceremony (in a traditional Japanese tea house) and Ikebana workshop, conducted by two of Queensland’s leading instructors, Ms Margaret Price and Ms Chieko Klerx. Cool mountain air (8 degrees below a very humid Brisbane) added to a what participants agreed was the perfect immersive experience.
