On 1 January 2024, the Mw=7.5 Noto Peninsula Earthquake struck the Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan. As of the time of writing, 168 people are known to have lost their lives, whilst up to 323 are currently missing.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane has opened a dedicated account for the receipt of disaster relief donations (details below).
Donations made to this account will be collected by the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane and remitted to the Japanese Government to be dispersed to victims.
