Update from Paper Boat Press Gallery

Kylie Johnson, owner of paper boat press gallery in Ashgrove, did a quick ten days in Japan with her sister Tiffany, in October.

Their main aim was to fill the shop with as many special handmade objects as possible, coming back with six suitcases full to the brim.

In Kyoto they met with makers of ceramics and sachiko embroidered homewares, incense and tea producers. Travelling out to the ancient kiln town of Shigaraki, Kylie hand picked a beautifully curated range of ceramics – tea cups, plates, sculptures and jewellery.

It’s always such a privilege to take the time to buy directly and with one eye across the range that I stock the gallery with, I hope people love it as much as I do.

Along with paper boat press’s iconic Christmas range of decorations and locally made ceramics, the Japanese flavour this Christmas is palpable.

The shop is open now until Christmas
