RILEY LEE – began playing the shakuhachi (bamboo flute) in Japan in 1971, studying with Chikuho Sakai until 1980 & was given the rank of Dai Shihan (grand master) in 1980. He has been instrumental in creating a professional presence of traditional Japanese music in Australia.

Takako Nishibori is QLD’s eminent Koto performer and a passionate educator. She brings the classic sounds of Japan alive through her mastery of the Koto.Takako was born in Otsu, Japan and began learning the Koto at the age of six. Takako studied the Koto with Grand Master Shizu Fujino.
