Beef Week, which is hosted in Rockhampton and occurs every three years, was held in May this year. 

The event has continued to grow from year to year and 2021 was no exception.

Beef is an extremely important primary industry for Australia and one of Australia’s major trading partners for beef is Japan.

As part of this ongoing connection between Australia and Japan AJS-Q Corporate member Clayton Utz hosted a lunch with representatives from the Consulate-General of Japan, Brisbane, NH Foods Australia and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Queensland.  

The purpose of the lunch was to share information about the importance of this primary industry to Japan.

Some of the objectives include:

  To strengthen existing trade and investment relationships in the beef and value-added food industries;

  To explore new market development opportunities for premium beef products; and

  To seek new investment in Queensland agriculture and food
