AJS-Q Presentation of Dr Fujiko Chamberlain Education Award
|

Australia Japan Society - Qld members and guests are invited to attend the presentation of the Dr Fujiko Chamberlain Education Award at the Society's End of Year event.
|
The Award commemorates the contribution to education and Australia Japan relations by longstanding Committee member and Life Member of the AJS-Q, Dr Fujiko Chamberlain OAM, and will be presented to a student from Griffith University and a student from the University of Queensland.

Applications for the 2020 JET Programme now open
The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, is aimed at promoting grass-roots international exchange between Japan and other nations.
|
The JET Programme invites young college graduates from around the world to participate in internationalisation initiatives and be involved in foreign language education at Japan’s local government offices, Boards of Education, elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high schools.
|
The JET Programme has gained high acclaim both domestically and overseas for being one of the world’s largest international exchange programmes. We hope that all people involved in the JET Programme, both the participants and the local people with whom they live and work with, will build an international network and become successful in today’s global society.

JETAA - Hanami in the Park

JETAA QLD invites you to join us at our annual Hanami picnic beneath the beautiful Jacarandas at New Farm Park.
|
As always, there will be games and lots of great company. Family and friends are very welcome and the park has a wonderful playground nearby for little ones that need to burn off that extra energy.

Kinyu Ink Studio Exhibition VI
Kinyu Ink Studio is a school founded and run by Sensei Yumiko Kigoshi. Yumiko is a Master painter, and is founder and director of the Qld Kinyu Sumi-e Academy (a local branch of the International Sumi-e Association); and is also an 8th Dan calligrapher with the prestigious Syogeiin school of Japanese calligraphy.
|
Bringing these two ancient and complimentary arts together, Yumiko teaches both calligraphy and Japanese Ink Brush painting under the banner of “Kinyu Ink Studio”.
|
This is the collection of student works as presented at the sixth annual Kinyu student exhibition in Brisbane.

The Kyoto Hanga International Print Exhibition: Japan and Australia

The exhibition showcases the diversity and dynamism of printmaking in all its forms from Australia and Japan.

The exhibition features artists associated with two leading organisations: the Kyoto Hanga Executive of Western Japan and the Print Council of Australia.
|
Accompanying the exhibition is an extensive program of printmaking workshops.

The Japanese Film Festival in Australia (JFF) is presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney. The JFF started in 1997 with three free film screenings by former Festival Director Masafumi Konomi and is now one of the largest celebrations of Japanese films in the world.
