AJS-QLD Annual Careers Evening
10th August 2023 | Hybrid Event - in-person and online
The Australia Japan Society of Queensland is proud to host its annual Japan Careers evening on Thursday 10 August.
This year we are honoured to co-host with the Japanese Consulate General of Japan Brisbane for the delivery of the event. The new Consul-General, Mr Gomakubo, will make an opening speech and is looking forward to meeting students.
This annual event highlights the advantages of studying the Japanese language and connects the audience to professionals who have learnt Japanese and have successfully utilized the language as part of their career paths. The event is targeted at high school and university students.
The event will be a hybrid event with the option to attend in person at the Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane or online via Zoom. As capacity for in-person attendance is limited, we recommend registering early to avoid missing out.
Hybrid event – in person (arrive at the Consulate by 5:15pm) or online attendance

For in-person attendance, please arrive at the Consulate-General of Japan between 5:00pm and 5:15pm for a 5:30pm start.

There are so many industries in which Japanese language skills can prove to be a major advantage. Receive some valuable insights from those who have pursued fluency in the language and utilised their Japanese skills across a number of industries.
A representative from the Consulate – General of Japan will also present information on next year’s JET Programme. The JET program is a Japanese Government initiative and has provided the platform for hundreds of Queenslanders to work in Japan and deepen their understanding of Japan.
