Japanese Film Festival 2021 - Brisbane

From epic fantasies to spine-tingling thrillers and avant-garde features from modern mavericks in contemporary cinema, the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) returns to Brisbane for its historic 25th year, screening at Palace Barracks and Palace James Street from 11 November to 21 November 2021.

AJS-Q Japan Related Careers Evening

The Society’s long-running, annual Japan Related Careers Evening was held on Zoom in October.

WORKSHOP | Furoshiki Wrapping with Mabina Alaka

In this workshop, led by Malina Abaka, you will explore the Japanese custom of Furoshiki, and learn how to fold and knot them yourself Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths, which come in many designs and sizes and are used to wrap important items- some wraps even look like baskets, bags or even more complex designs.
